The Patient Access Representative is responsible for the patient registration process.  Performs one of the most important customer service and data collection roles for the hospital.  Essential duties for this position are providing one-on-one “extraordinary” customer service attention to each patient, requesting and accurately documenting patient demographic information, insurance information, verifying third-party payer information, obtaining authorizations and pre-certifications, performing credit checks, collecting and reviewing patient financial information for pre-registrations, charge posting, calculating the amounts due from the patient, performing point-of-service payment collections, accurately and efficiently, etc.  These functions assure that the hospital’s revenue cycle activities are performed accurately and completely.  Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.  Performs-multi-task clinic duties to ensure efficiency in daily business operations.  These duties performed in accordance with all regulatory guidelines and the Grady Health System’s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. (40 Hrs./Week; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / M-F)

(25 Hrs./Week; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm / M-F / PRN)





High School graduate.  A minimum of two (2) years of college preferred.  CPAR Certification preferred.  Prior experience in patient access, billing, cash collections, insurance, or directly related experience in a health care environment.  Knowledge of Siemens OAS Gold® / Siemens INVISION® cashiering functions.  Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.
